What’s cooler than being cool ? You guessed it: ice cold. Since December’s the month for get-togethers, parties, potlucks and festivities of all kinds, we want you to walk out the door with a self-confidence that is ice cold. Every occasion’s just a little different than the other, so your outfits might need a little tweaking here and there. To help you see the forest through the trees, here’s a collection of four festive looks straight from the Bellerose style books, all paired with the perfect pair of Alden shoes.
All around the christmas tree
It’s no secret that one of the nicest things about Christmas is getting together with the family, sipping some wine around the ol’ Christmas tree and eating some great food. OK, lots of great food. Those near and dear to you already know you dress well, so for this occasion you don’t want to overdo anything. Keeping things elegant and classy, we’re going for preppy chic here with a super solid blue wool cardigan and a stone washed button-down denim shirt. A natural match for those blue hues is a chino in an easy earth tone, so we went for exactly that. Walking in, a checked lightweight scarf in generous wool will be perfect to give your outfit that festive touch, along with – of course – a neat pair of Alden derbies in white. That’s right, snow white !
Xmas at the office
We obviously don’t know what dress code is applicable to your line of work, but may we suggest this killer look for the office Christmas or end of the year party? Combining equal doses of cool and class, this outfit will have your colleagues looking twice (at least). We love bright touches to winter-y outfits, so opted for our yellow Gibbs shirt with its timeless, comfy fit and a colorful checked wool scarf. That taken care of, the right pair of pants was needed to add some sérieux, so in came our subtly pleated cotton/wool Frast trousers in dark grey. The icing on the cake however comes from the glorious pair of Alden cordovan moccasins, there’s no debating that.
Secret Santa style
Surprise your friends with a bunch of well-considered gifts and a look that will dazzle. This is what we’d call “going for it” and that happens to be what we do best : ) Take a couple of seemingly dressed-up items, juxtapose them with unexpected counterparts and you may end up with magic. Case in point: our lush checked Coop overcoat and a white herringbone cotton shirt thrown in the mix with super casual Champion sweatpants and a flashy baseball cap. A combination that no one would see coming, but really makes all the sense in the world if you ask us. To balance it all out, we went for a classic among classics in the Alden range: the brown suede chukka boots.
Party like it’s 2099
The key to being the coolest at any festive occasion? Simple. It’s looking like you don’t even care. This is how you perfectly balance “oh, there’s a party?” with “I came here to party”. The eye catcher here is the combo of our ribbed fisherman sweater in creamy white with that perfectly cut raccoon brown corduroy jacket. Both are rich in texture and full of character, feeling fresh yet still somewhat classic. Underneath, a pop of extra color in the form of our Gibbs shirt. Keeping it simple for the rest of the outfit, we chose a pair of relaxed, tapered chinos of the comfiest kind, in a dark blue. Those always do the trick. Last but not least, finish things like a gentleman with a pair of Alden cap toe cordovan boots and that’s it, the bar is open.
