Outerwear is all about making the right choices. You can wear whatever you want underneath, ranging from a vintage Chanel dress to denim overalls with busted knees, but the wrong jacket will ruin everything you’re going for. We don’t mean to scare you though, because rest assured: doing it right isn’t hard at all. To prove our point, we created a bunch of extremely wearable Bellerose looks for different occasions, in different styles. Each of those looks was then elevated with the perfect jacket or coat. Does that sound good? Read on.
SHOPPING SPREE.
A weekend abroad with your best friends, filled with the nicest stores, best museums and coolest coffee bars? Or a day out in the city visiting your favorite spots, with a relaxed dinner at the end? Say no more, this is the look. Keeping things understated yet stylish, we went for our black Georges shirt dress, coupled with black boots and a black bag. Why complicate things, right? This monochrome palette will allow the star of the show to truly shine: our checked Ladjo coat. Made from a unique jute fabric, with a straight and collarless cut, it’s an easy final layer, sure to make heads turn.
MAGIC AT THE OFFICE.
We all have that one impeccably dressed colleague that makes it all look so damn easy. What does she know that we don’t? Well, we tried to crack the code with this outfit. Here goes! Step 1: Combining several wardrobe staples in the perfect fit and fabric will go a long way. In this outfit, there’s the timeless crisp white shirt, with that perfect pair of straight blue jeans and lush leather loafers for a touch of chic. Step 2: Our faux shearling Edel jacket finishes things up beautifully with it’s cropped, slightly boxy shape. Step 3: Accessorize with a fan favorite: the Nirya bag, nearly ton-sur-ton with the jacket. Smooth sailing, so bring on Monday morning.
BOYS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN.
Here’s a trick that always works: Save that pop of color for the piece you really want to make count. That doesn’t mean everything else should be whatever, of course. This inter-seasonal tomboy-ish look ties in with the core of Bellerose’s DNA: High-quality casual wear, unafraid to bring masculine elements into feminine styles. Bottom to top, it’s New Balance kicks, our flared wide-leg Poker jeans in a subdued color, a classic leather belt and a tucked in blue cotton shirt. Which brings us to that pop of color; our collarless Human jacket in a bold and bright red. Fusing modern design and a water repellent fabric with workwear elements, it really is an atypical piece made to stand out.
EFFORTLESSLY COOL.
Perfect for a last-minute brunch in the city or an unplanned walk down the beach in the cool spring air. Easy does it (OK, sometimes it doesn’t). We’re all about effortless cool and comfort, that’s a fact. Our oversized Laos parka is the ideal partner in crime for that type of outfit. We combined its dark navy blue with the brighter Klein blue of our fluffy Datair cardigan and the faded stonewashed blue of a pair of vintage Levi’s. Wrap things up with your favorite sneakers (take it easy on the colors though) and grab an extra scarf in case it would get really chilly.
Remember that weird phase you go through as a kid where you’d rather go outside with 4 sweatshirts on top of each other rather than wearing a jacket, no matter how hard it was freezing? We’re so glad that was just a phase. Remember, whoever it is you’re crossing paths with; chances are that all they’ll remember about your outfit is your coat or jacket.
