Casa do Pego - Portugal’s Chicest Low-Key Hideaway

Situated south of Lisbon near Comporta, Portugal’s hippest and most sought after beach destination, Casa do Pego is the setting we chose to shoot our brand new capsule collection. Complete with its own sunny rooftop terrace with a stunning private pool, the single-floor house is quintessentially luxurious all while keeping things truly low-key.

The fishing villages of the area surrounding Comporta have always been a favorite hideaway among Europe’s fashionable crowd thanks to its remote-but-not-quite location and pleasant climate, yet it is only this year that American business magazine Forbes named Comporta "the next great beach destination”, comparing it to St. Barth and the Hamptons.

Built atop a sand dune just 400m away from Praia do Pego, one of the country’s most eye-catching beaches, the house was designed by emblematic Portuguese architect Pedro Ferreira Pinto and aims to blend in perfectly with its surroundings—a strong current trend within the world of architecture as designing buildings that are environmentally conscious has become one of today’s biggest challenges.

A perfect and minimalist combination of modern smooth polished concrete, glass windows and pine wood decks, Casa do Pego also features two relaxing interior courtyards and a front deck with a garden which is planted with typical species including pine, which helps the building achieve a toned down but very elegant look all while making the property look like a natural extension of its surrounding landscape.

This villa is bound to appeal to anyone with an eye for architecture and design as it looks exquisitely alluring both inside and out. Its interior features stunning and iconic design pieces, such as Cuero butterfly chairs, oversized Anglepoise lamps and, last but not least, a breathtaking Fireorb hanging fireplace. Similarly, one can notice strong ethnic influences in the bathrooms and furniture, which contributes to the house’s refined and quiet atmosphere.

One of the reasons we chose this location to showcase our new Women’s capsule collection is that, like every item of clothing we design at Bellerose, this house is all about details. We love how the rooftop pool is invisible from outside the house all while providing guests with a stunning view of the nearby Arrábida mountain range, as well as the discreet privacy of both inside courtyards.

If you’d like to enjoy a relaxing trip among lavender fields, rosemary-scented pine trees and the sounds of the nearby ocean, it will take you just one hour to travel there from Lisbon’s international airport. Visit Casa do Pego’s website for more information. https://www.casadopego.com
